Ulster & Connacht Schools Team Racing Championship Recap

The Ulster / Connacht Schools Team Racing event wrapped up last weekend after a full day of competitive sailing and great sportsmanship on the water. Conditions tested boat handling and teamwork, with temperatures playing a big part on the day. Race officers and volunteers kept the schedule running smoothly, allowing for a full programme of races and plenty of opportunities for teams to show their skills.
Colaiste emerged as the standout performers of the weekend, topping the overall standings after a consistent series of strong results. Their crews demonstrated excellent communication, smart tactical calls, and calm decision‑making under pressure. In total, five teams took part in the event, representing a fantastic spread of schools and giving many young sailors valuable experience in team racing. Congratulations to Colaiste on their victory, and well done to all competitors, coaches, and organisers who helped make the regatta a success.
Rice College, Coláiste Éinde, two teams from GBSC as well as a team from Calasanctius College took part in the event, showcasing impressive teamwork, dedication and enthusiasm throughout the day. Their participation contributed to a vibrant, competitive atmosphere and highlighted the strong commitment to student development and extracurricular achievement across all the schools involved.
