Sailing for All Ages
Irish Schools Sailing is a national association established to promote and facilitate sailing within schools across Ireland. Its mission is to make sailing more accessible to young people by integrating it into school sports and extracurricular activities. The association works with schools, sailing clubs, and governing bodies to provide opportunities for students to learn sailing in a safe, structured, and inclusive environment. Through training programs, resources, and events, Irish School Sailing aims to inspire a lifelong passion for the sport while also fostering teamwork, resilience, and environmental awareness among students.
Sailing Events & Organisation
Irish Schools Sailing specialises in organising and creating sailing events for secondary schools nationally. Our experienced committee provides a safe and fun environment for students to learn and improve their sailing skills. We also offer workshops to enhance the overall experience and promote sailing skills amongst sailors.
1. Event Scheduling
To ensure that we maximise the amount of time we have within the calendar year, ISS aims to coordinative with all organising bodies to ensure no clashes occur. This also ensures that proper and effective promoting of events is conducted. If you have an idea for an event or want to promote it through our social channels please get in contact and we can discuss through the details and requirements needed
2. Affiliation with Irish Sailing
We have the stamp of approval !! Accredited with Irish Sailing ISS ensures to follow all procedures that policies enforced by Irish Sailing to ensure that all events and sailing occasions are run safely and properly.
3. Training Clinics
Training programs are structured learning experiences designed to enhance knowledge, skills, and behaviours in a specific area. These programs are typically tailored towards Team Racing as the learning process is quite steep for sailors to join having never team raced outside of school. To ensure that this bridge is closed we at Irish School Sailing aim to create learning clinics and events to encourage more sailors to learn about the tactics and rules of Team Racing.
As ISS begin to grow we aim to create similar clinics for fleet racing. Watch this space!!
